Cornerstone Drymix Coarse is a dry ready mixed lime mortar for general building, bedding and pointing work. Available in two colours, buff as standard or white upon request.

As part of the Cornerstone Drymix range for general building and pointing, this ready-mixed natural hydraulic lime mortar features pure lime and natural sands to provide the breathability, flexibility and durability that the building fabric needs to stand the test of time.

Manufactured by Cornerstone using utilising 100% pure natural hydraulic lime, natural sands, and conservation-appropriate additives. The enhanced physical and mechanical characteristics create a high-performance, breathable mortar that provides an authentic natural aesthetic. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® NHL2 or NHL3.5. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request.

Well-suited for stonework applications featuring a large joint and looking for a traditional and refined coarse creamy buff finish.

With a diverse range of lime-based products, Cornerstone defies the standard one-size-fits-all approach, providing refined solutions to tackle each project effectively. Their products can be found on prestigious buildings worldwide, blending innovation with tradition to meet evolving industry needs.

As with any natural product, variations in colour, texture and shape may occur. In addition, images may vary slightly from actual products due to these natural variations and screen resolution. For the best consistency, ensure to acquire a sufficient amount of material with your order to avoid batch-to-batch variation.

  • A popular choice for pointing projects
  • Conservation appropriate additives
  • No pigments to combat colour fading
  • Vapour permeable to support moisture management
  • Features a refined buff colour after finishing
  • Well suited to larger jointed stonework
  • Enhanced workability for those behind the trowel
  • Straightforward mixing and finishing
  • Decreased likelihood of shrinkage cracking

Suitable for internal or external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.

Drymix Coarse is suitable for general building and pointing work applications where the joint and bed size exceeds 10mm. Explore Drymix Medium for laying blocks or bricks with smaller joints. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or sustainable construction.

Drymix Coarse prefers masonry with a degree of suction, so masonry units such as engineering bricks may be more challenging to work with.

A 25kg bag will produce approximately 15 litres of mortar and fill roughly 1.5m² of joint. The width and depth of the joint will influence this estimation. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.

Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.

    First class pointing mortar

I’ve been using this pointing mix on all my jobs for the last 4 years and cannot rate it highly enough. It leaves a nice coarse finish and a consistent colour that doesn’t vary from bag to bag. Mixed correctly for a minimum of 2 hours it’s like pointing with clotted cream it’s so soft. Excellent product…keep up the awesome work Cornish lime👍 Previously worked for Westcountry Stonemasons Ltd.
