Cornerstone Lime Putty Fine Surface Filler is designed for high flexibility and slow setting.
Supplied ready to use, Cornerstone Lime Putty Fine Filler may be adjusted with a small amount of water if a thinner consistency is required. For detailed application guidance, please refer to the datasheet before use. Suitable for use on lime backgrounds. It is not suitable for use in conjunction with gypsum plaster or plasterboard. Cornerstone Lime Putty Filler can fill cracks up to 6mm in diameter as long as the surface is not hollow or debonded. Once dry, the filler will remain white in colour.
Ensure surfaces are clean and free of dust and other debris; if the crack is very fine, chase it out as required. Less absorbent dense backgrounds should require minimal to no dampening. Absorbent backgrounds will require sufficient dampening to prevent rapid drying.
Remix the filler if any water has separated. Take the required quantity of filler and knock it up with a trowel or fillet knife. If the filler is too stiff, add a small amount of clean potable water to adjust its consistency.
Press the filler into the crack using a spatula or flat-edged trowel, moving along the fissure in a diagonal motion in both directions. Over-fill the area slightly. Allow the filler to stiffen and dry back. Drying time will vary but is typically within 24 hours. Once dry, sand the filler back level to the wall.
Lightly mist the filler 2-3 times daily for 4-5 days after application, but do not saturate. If shrinkage does occur, re-apply a small amount of the filler to any new cracks as required.
The filler will carbonate over time but stay alkaline at the surface for a minimum of 5 weeks. Certain paints, such as mineral or modern synthetic polymer paints, will be incompatible until carbonation occurs. Painting with a limewash or lime paint should be viable within 1-2 weeks.
Do not use this product below 5°C or if freezing conditions are predicted within the following few weeks, including wind chill. Do not use this product in temperatures above 30°C.

We do not recommend adding pigment to Cornerstone Lime Putty Filler, as it is unlikely to
mix and distribute evenly, which will result in inconsistent colours and clumps of pigment
that don’t bind.
Yes, but the lime putty filler will require a period of time to carbonate or cure. For limewash
or lime paint, painting is viable within 1-2 weeks. For a mineral paint, we advise waiting for a
minimum of five weeks as the filler will still remain alkaline until that point. For the most
appropriate paint for your walls, browse our range of breathable paints.
If working with breathable lime plaster walls, it only makes sense to pair them with a
breathable filler and a breathable paint. Which paint you choose depends on the durability
your looking for, but Cornerstone Lime Paint or Beeck Maxil Pro Internal Mineral Paint are
two great options.
Aftercare is quite simple but important step. Lightly mist spray the putty filler 2-3 times for
4-5 days after application. Rework the filler with a small amount of fresh material if any
shrinkage is present.
Filling minor cracks, holes or imperfections in lime-plastered walls only requires a few steps.
Generally speaking, this will include preparing the area, including removing any dust or
debris, lightly dampening the area if your background is highly absorbent, and using a flat
tool, such as a trowel, to apply and press the filler. Like lime plaster, a lime putty filler will
require aftercare. Always follow the application guidance of the specific product you select

Keep this stored in covered and frost-free conditions in it's airtight container. Reseal the tub
not all of the filler is used. Unlike pure lime putty which can be stored indefinitely, this filler
should be used within 24 months of the manufacturing date.
