Hi, I am currently restoring an ironstone farmhouse and have decided to lime render the ugly 90s brick extension. The plasterers I have got in are great, however they are mostly used to doing new builds etc. They have finished the render on one wall and it is one uniform colour (off white/cream) as opposed to the more earthy yellows/tan that I wanted. They are struggling to understand what I mean when I say “mottled” or “different tones” to the render. When I show them an example of a “mottled” render in the village, that was done a few years they are not sure how to achieve the “perfectly imperfect” look. Any suggestions on how to achieve the mottled look and desired colour would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
