Hello,
I had a 25m long stone wall repointed with lime mortar and the ‘Cock and Hen’ re-seated in lime mortar about a year ago.
The recent frosts have caused the lime mortar ‘coping’ to flake off on its surface (about two or three mm deep in patches over the entire length of the wall).
So, I have two questions if I may
- What is the best route to repair?
- What is the underlying cause for this frost damage?
Many thanks
