Properties and Benefits: Viv is a qualified Plasterer having served an apprenticeship with a time served Plasterer albeit 55 years ago. Viv has run Plastering courses at Cornwall College where he lectured on Construction and Civil Engineering for 30 years, the course involved the use of lime for rendering and lime finishing. Viv then spent 10 years on the Development Team with the C.I.T.B developing the Craft Masons Qualification which included 4 Plastering Units in the Qualification and as an assessor was at one time the first Plastering Assessor in the County. Viv spent 5 years teaching Heritage Skills to adults at the Robinsons Mine for Cornwall College, as well as spending 6 years setting up the new Heritage Skills Qualification at Level 3 and eventually also at Level 2 with the C.I.T.B Development Team this Qualification included ample Plastering Units with Lime Plasters and the extensive use of plasters and lime finishes. Viv works very closely with S.P.A.B (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) in developing Standards for Heritage Building both in Plastering, Roofing, Stonework and Brickwork. No previous experience is necessary and we provide a buffet lunch, tea, coffee and refreshments during the day. All delegates receive a comprehensive literature pack, a basic safety pack and support and assistance once they undertake their project.
